What is mindset? Very basically, it’s the way you think about things. If you have your mind set that you aren’t good at golf, you probably won’t ever be good at golf, or even try for that matter.
The great news is that there are two kinds of mindset, growth and fixed. And the even better news is that you can train yourself to have a growth mindset!
You maybe don’t know why this is important yet… but I’ll explain.
Fixed mindset very basically means that you believe you are born with a certain set of skills and that is the furthest you will go. You aren’t likely to try new things and be willing to learn, but instead you stick with what you know and ride that wave as long as you can.
Growth mindset essentially means that you are always open to learning new things and you don’t limit yourself. You enjoy challenges and trying something unknown, and you also accept failures as learning opportunities instead of just failures.
There is a LOT more depth to growth and fixed mindsets, but I think just knowing the difference in general helps you to determine what kind of mindset you currently have, and what kind of mindset you want to have. Assuming the growth mindset is more desirable to you, you can learn to adapt that type of thinking with some work and dedication. Believe me, it’s well worth it.
Stick with me and I will show you how!
Best to you!
